WP8 Transferability of medical device HTA/EE and of evidence on uncertainty factors across EU Member States

WP8 is led by SYREON Research Institute, and its overarching aim is to investigate transferability of developed knowledge gained from case studies and analyses in the overall project to countries where local studies are not feasible, due to resource constraints

• » To investigate how a cross-country data collection and analysis on learning curve for medical devices can inform economic evaluation of medical device HTA in jurisdictions where local studies are not feasible;
• » To assess the transferability of coverage with evidence development schemes across jurisdictions;
• » To develop policy guidance on the wider inclusion of economic evaluation studies in policy making in order to prevent widening of the gap between Western and Eastern/Southern Europe in terms of the assessment of health care systems and individual medical technologies.

Outcomes:

• » Results and conclusions of a mini conference with representatives of policy makers and manufacturers will be summarized in policy guidelines on transferability of coverage with evidence development schemes based on foreign data
