WP5 Investigate medical practice variations for medical devices within and between European

WP5 is led by Hamburg Center for Health Economics, and it will investigate and explain medical practice variations for medical devices within and between European countries based on the scientific model and the structure of the data library developed in WP4.

Objectives:

• » To define a set of medical devices for pilot testing the scientific model and data library;
• » To investigate medical practice variations for medical devices within and between European countries for a pilot study of 10 medical devices; separating warranted from unwarranted medical practice variation
  

Outcomes:

• » Results of the analysis performed of the observed variations in medical practice empirically will show (unwarranted) medical practice variation and explain the underlying reasons for these variations.
